This page lists the current curriculum for the Media Management Masters program.
The Media Management M.S. is a joint program offered by the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Students take courses in both colleges throughout the academic year. Admission is highly competitive.
This program is a one-year intensive immersion for people interested in a management-level career in communications, communications consulting and issues of digital media disruption.

This course is an exploration of the large-scale forces disrupting media businesses and re-shaping the practices and methods of communications and media management. This is an intensive reading course. Students are expected to engage in vigorous (and rigorous) discussion of the economic, regulatory, demographic and technological forces that are shaping 21st century media management.

Students develop a web site designed to maximize their web presence. Emphasis on good structured information design (XHTML and CSS) and excelent navigational and interaction design and elements of good Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Students are also introduced to Flash animation sufficient to develop a Flash navigation system, a complete (but basic) flash site, or use various flash components connected to XML documents, or javaScript elements.
This class is a mixture of lecture and labs.
